Architectural Excellence
Aqsarniit Hotel and Conference Centre establishes a new precedent in architectural innovation. Boasting an exterior inspired by Inuit culture, this first-class destination is a beacon of form, comfort, and northern hospitality. The facility incorporates a structural steel podium conference center, lounge, restaurant, commercial kitchen, and staff facilities. The modern exterior is clad with LED-illuminated glass evoking the Northern Lights, while the circular conference space recalls a drum circle representing a safe gathering place for participants, with dedicated display space for local artwork.
Guests can relax and rejuvenate in our spacious modular hotel units that include double queen rooms, king rooms, and suites that include a residential style kitchen, sitting area, dedicated bedroom, and washroom. These thoughtfully designed modular interiors offer tranquility and a unique sense of place found only in Canada’s North.
Technical Innovation & Sustainability
From foundations to insulation and lighting fixtures, every aspect of Aqsarniit Hotel and Conference Centre’s construction has been designed to meet northern demands for efficiency and sustainability. To achieve this high standard, the design utilized higher R-value building insulating envelope systems and a central HVAC system providing energy-efficient, individualized comfort to guest rooms. These cutting-edge innovations reflect Aqsarniit Hotel and Conference Centre’s ongoing commitment to the environment and eco-friendly hospitality.
With limited site labor and material resources in the remote location, all furniture, fixtures and equipment for the hotel and conference center were finished in the factory. From there, modules were shipped from Asia, tugged to shore, trailered directly to the site, and set into place over 9 days!
